Small team. High standards.
Software we believe in.
Gyld was founded in Athens in 2022. We started where a lot of good things start: engineers comparing notes about the same problems showing up on every project. Missed deadlines, developers buried in admin, work that didn't hold up. So we built a studio designed to fix what kept breaking.
We work with clients who have real problems to solve. We also build software of our own. The two reinforce each other: client work keeps the engineering sharp, and product work keeps us honest about what it means to live with what you ship.
Five things we don't compromise on.
OWNERSHIP
Every engagement has a named owner. Timelines don't slip in the gap between people. They live with one team that sees the work through.
ENGINEERS_BUILD
Our engineers spend their hours on the code, not the admin. We absorb the project overhead so the technical work stays focused.
RIGHT-SIZED_TEAMS
We don't over-sell seniority and we don't under-staff to win a contract. Each engagement gets the level of experience the work actually requires.
VISIBLE_PROGRESS
Clients shouldn't have to chase tickets to know how the build is going. Status is something we provide, not something you mine for.
PRODUCTION_HYGIENE
Peer review, observability, CI/CD, and security defaults are not optional. They're the floor. What gets built on top is the interesting part.

Founder
Eirini Karvouni
Founded Gyld in 2022 after a decade building data systems, ML infrastructure, and full-stack products. Mostly for companies where the architecture decisions had real consequences if they went wrong. Some of those systems are still running. Started the studio because good engineering is a discipline, not a personality type.
A network of developers, designers, and researchers.
Gyld is a small core team and a wider network of engineers, designers, and researchers we know and trust. We grow by teaching, supporting, and learning from one another. Senior engineers focus on architecture and long-term decisions; mid-level engineers execute efficiently and independently; every team is sized to the task.
Experienced, passionate engineers and designers who care about the craft. People who've shipped real systems, lived with what they built, and have opinions worth listening to. We assemble teams from this group based on the shape of the work.
Active links into university research groups: applied ML, data systems, and computer vision among them. When a problem benefits from a researcher's eye, we have people to call.
Based in Athens, working across Europe. We operate to European compliance and quality standards. The work has to hold up here, in this regulatory environment, for real.
The studio, between commits.
Every studio has one. This is ours.
